Ireland’s Pezula Racing are in Pennsylvania, USA for the Commerce Bank Triple Crown series of races better known as Philly week. The three race series consisting of the 1.1 ranked Leigh Valley Classic and Reading classic are a fast and furious warm up for the 150 mile Philadelphia International Championship on Sunday the 8th of June. The 1.HC ranked race climbs the infamous Manyunk wall climb no less than 10 times where the party roars all day long.
Following on from a successful start to our inaugural season where we have taken numerous international and domestic victories this marks a new step up in standard for our boy’s but a task the squad feel they are ready for. Ciaran Power and David O'Loughlin are no stranger’s state side with both having raced for the US based teams for the past few seasons. Both riders are feeling in good condition following on from stage victories in last week’s FBD Insurance Ras.
The Commerce Bank Triple Crown features some of the worlds top cycling teams including Pro Tour teams, Liquigas, High Road, CSC and USA based high rollers Rock racing, Slipstream, Health net to name a few.
The team will then travel on to Quebec, Canada for the Tour de Beauce from the 10th to 15th of June. This offers another tough challenge where the young gun’s Martyn Irvine, William Connolly and Derek Burke will have the chance to show their talent.
