The 3rd round of this years UCI track cycling world cup moves across the Atlantic to the USA where Pezula racing’s David O'Loughlin & Morgan Fox will take part.
O’Loughlin the current national road race champion will take part in the individual pursuit and the scratch race while Fox will take on the world’s best in the point’s race & 1km TT.
The track world cup series plays a huge importance this year with valuable Olympic places up for grabs. Record entries for the Olympic events have seen the most competitive of races and standards raised as the battle rages for Beijing bound tickets. The Pezula Racing duo along with Louise Morriarty are surprisingly Ireland’s sole representatives in this crucial round of the UCI Track World Cup.
O’Loughlin & Fox both competed in the previous round in Beijing where O’Loughlin broke his existing national pursuit record, setting the mark of 4.25.310 and Fox narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Points race final on his track world cup debut.
Both riders are finalizing their preparations at the Homedepot centre velodrome in Carlson, California ahead of this weekend 3rd round of the UCI Track World Cup.
Pezula racing are delighted to announce the additional new signings of three talented young riders, Derek Burke, Adam Armstrong and the UK’s Richard Meadows.
Derek Burke a former Murphy and Gunn pro who is in his final season as an under 23 whom under the tutelage of coach Padraig Marrey has been training hard in the sunnier climbs of Portugal in preparation for his debut in a Pezula jersey.
Richard Meadows who is an accomplished time trial and track specialist comes with glowing references from acclaimed cycling coach and former pro Dave Lloyd.
Adam Armstrong is no stranger to international competition on both the road and track. He is an exciting prospect to have on board as the Pezula team embarks on their maiden season as a UCI continental road and Track team with a strong emphasis on the development of young talent.
