The club will provide back up facilities in the form of a lead car (a car which leads the cycling event, letting other road users know that a cycling event is occurring). A trained cycling coach and a back up vehicle will also be in attendance. There will also be a trained first aid practitioner in the back up vehicles and if there are large numbers in attendance, an ambulance will be arranged.
Routes have been selected for there relative safety and there scenic nature. For the most part, the routes are flat so as to facilitate beginners and families. The club has also organised that local community facilities be made available to all cyclists ensuring that toilet facilities and a location for refreshments will be provided.
The events have been arranged so as to introduce families and beginners to cycling in a safe and organised event. Cycling is a fantastic way to explore the beauty of Mayo and get in some exercise at the same time.
Cycles are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.
