Ladies Tour of Lough Gill

This event takes place on Saturday 26th of September. It is strictly confined to female cyclists. The tour is designed for women that are interested in getting back on the bicycle with very little training required. The tour will be conducted at a steady pace with no cyclist being dropped behind and full assistance being provided along the route.

Participants can enter and register on the morning from 10 am and collect their "goody bag" and get a short briefing prior to the event. The tour will depart The Clarion Hotel at 11am and head for Dromahair in the Hazelwood direction. The first rest stop will be at the scenic site of Parkes Castle. On reaching the picturesque village of Dromahair the women will be treated to a welcome complimentary meal break with a variety of food and drinks on offer (no alcohol!).

The route then takes the tourers via Innisfree crossroads to the next rest-stop at Dooney Rock. Here the cyclists can get a chance to re-group before taking on the slight climb at Aughamore. Prior to taking the final downhill spin into Sligo the cyclists will again re-assemble at Carraroe. The total distance for the tour is about 40 Kilometres so with a few rest stops this should not prove to be beyond even the most novice of cyclist.

Innisfree Wheelers wish to acknowledge the assistance of Sligo Sports Partnership:

and Women in sport:
