Innisfree Wheelers XMas Charity Cycle

Innisfree Wheelers will stage their Annual Christmas Spin in aid of local charities this year on Sunday 11th December. This year the Innisfree Wheelers have joined with the Sligo Lions Club in order to stage their event. The Sligo Lions Club are proactive in gathering much needed funds on an annual basis to support local charities and they are very grateful to the local cycling club for giving of their time to assist in their fundraising activities.

Sligo Lions club organise over 200 Christmas food hampers each year which are distributed by St.Vincent de Paul and Sligo social services in Sligo town and county.We are appealing to the public to support this worthy project as the need is even greater this year

The Charity Cycle is open to all cyclists who are capable of cycling 40km and they will use the soon to be known "The Lough Gill Cycle Loop"as their route for the cycle.For those who are not familiar with it the route is from Sligo I.T.to Dromahair and back to Sligo via Dooney Rock.Hopefully the weather will be in favour for all the cyclists taking part as it can be slightly unpredictable at this time of year.Registration for the event will take place from 9.00am on the morning of the event at Sligo I.T. Sports Complex with cyclists taking to the road at 10.00am.Entry Fee will be 10euro with all proceeds going to the Sligo Lions Club Appeal.

Spot Prizes for the best Dressed Male and Female Cyclist with a Christmas theme.Christmas Refreshments will be served after the cycle in Connolly's Bar,Markievicz Road.The Innisfree Wheelers would like to encourage all levels of cyclists from the various clubs in the County to come along and join them in contributing to the Sligo Lions Club Christmas Appeal which assists them in their work locally over the Christmas period
