Felix English Beats Chris Hoy In Euro Track Champs

Plucky 18 year old Felix English riding for the Irish track squad has just beaten the legendary Chris Hoy in the 1/16 finals of the mens sprint competition at Warszawa/Pruszków Poland. In doing so English has eliminated the current Olympic Champion from the competition.

Speaking afterwards, English was quizzed on how it felt to take such an unexoected victory. " I’m very happy and surprised. It hasn’t happened for a few years that Chris lost at such an early stage of a competition. It was a great heat for me. At the finishing metres, I caught up with Hoy who made a mistake and… I won! "
