Kearney Cycles Connacht Mountain Bike League Round 4

Shramore Wood in North Mayo was the venue for the 4th round of The Kearney Cycles Connacht MTB League.

This event attracted a large field and was enjoyed by all on this new venue and thanks to Coillte for their help. The day started with the under 10 race, Declan Maloney Covey Wheelers Westport C.C holding off Michael Sheridan Covey Wheelers Westport C.C

Mark Finnerty Western Lakes. was the strongest in the under 12 section, taking it from club mate Niall Hughes Western Lakes. In the Ladies section Lydia Sheridan Covey Wheelers Westport C.C continues to improve taking first place from Edel Burke Innishfree C.C.

Shane Mulchrone Covey Wheelers Westport C.C took the under 14 group from mark Biggins Western Lakes. Under 16 is a very interesting group with a lot of winners over the series so the final round should prove to be very competitive, Robert Staunton Covey Wheelers Westport C.C on this occasion was on form on this course which suited his style of cycling, Francis Sheridan Covey Wheelers Westport C.C was second Lauren Gourlay took the Ladies section.
Anthony Testa Westcoast Wheelers showed that he is the man in the expert section holding off Padraic Marrey Western Lakes.

In Sports Section Ronan O’Flynn Galway proved he is worthy of his first place in the league taking first place from Joe Carroll Galway Bay C.C. Jan Gieglis, “Henry J Lyons”was the Vet winner from Padraic Conway Covey Wheelers Westport C.C

In the novice section new comer Keith Ruddy U/A showed his talent for this sport Taking 1st place from Noel Mulroy Covey Wheelers Westport C.C Sadhbh Baxter Westcoast Wheelers was 1st lady Junior William Sheridan Covey Wheelers Westport C.C DNF.

The Final: Kearney Cycles Connacht Mountain Bike Winter League Round 5

The Kearney Cycles Connacht Mountain Bike league, The Final round will take place in Tourmakeady Wood, Co Mayo on Sunday 27th Dec sign on 11am, Youth racing 12am and Senior Racing at 1pm.

Anthony Testa Westcoast Wheelers will be a hard man to catch having a good lead over Padraic Marrey Western Lakes.
In the sports section Ronan O’Flynn will be at his best to hold off Garry Collins Western Lakes, and Joe Carroll Galway Bay.

The Competition will be good on the 27th and all are welcome and it should be a good day out after the Christmas.

The Challenge your Family Fun Day on 30th Dec will be a great event for all the family, and as the woods are free from traffic, the youngest child with Santa’s present of a bike should enjoy this day, Refreshments will be served, so it should be a great day for all.

The day will start with a sign on and a small charge of €3 in the Car Park in Cong Village Co.Mayo and the spin will take to Cong woods…
