David O Loughlin powers to victory

Cunga CC rider wins his first race of the season in fine style, he made his
move on the 2nd Cat climb of Ail Duil with 20 miles to go where he bridged
across to Colm Cassidy of UCD and the two rode together until Cassidy
punctured with 10k to go. At that stage Dave O Loughlin had 1min 20seconds
on a group of 11 riders but by the finish line that lead had crumbled to
just 24seconds with some hard driving by the Murphy surveyors team of Peelo
and Lynch.
In the Sprint for second place Cassidy UCD was just piped by David Peelo of
Murphy Surveyors by a hair's breath to finish 3rd.
The Ladies Development squad rode a great race with Cait Elliott and Sandra
Fitzgerald both sharing the Inch's pub sponsored Combativitive award where
they drove their group for much of the stage.
The Cong man now starts as favorite for tomorrow 8k TT and should increase
his lead but the second 85k stage could prove difficult without a team where
he first has to bring back a H/cap on the ladies and A3 groups.

to hold on to the leader yellow jersey.
