An Post Tour Of Sligo

Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership is delighted to announce the hosting of the An Post Tour of Sligo on Sunday 10th May 2009. This is a wonderful opportunity to encourage increased leisure cycling while also promoting Sligo as a cycling destination for visitors. This cycling event is all about: Participation, Fun and Sporting Challenge

The event will involve 3 different routes and will hopefully accommodate a wide range of cycling interests, including the leisure cyclist, family cycling and of course seasoned/ experienced cyclists. Participating in the event will be Olympian David O Loughlin.

The Hazelwood Family Spin 10 km

The Lough Gill Circuit - 60 km
Description: The Lough Gill Circuit, at 60 km, is a relatively flat route that is suitable for those who have a good level of fitness and will be enjoyed by leisure cyclists as well as more experienced touring cyclists..

The Ox Mountain Challenge- 160km 
Description: The Ox Mountain Challenge is a tough and challenging cycle and not for the fainthearted. Almost 160 km (100 miles) in distance, it includes a number of challenging climbs and is suitable only for very experienced and very fit full-time cyclists....

The An Post Tour of Sligo will take place on Sunday 10th March 2009.

You can also enter on line through our Online Application Process which will be up and running very soon. Closing date is THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 2009.

The entry fees shown above apply to entries received by the closing date of: Thursday 30th April 2009. Entries received after this date will incur a late entry penalty as follows:

Hazelwood Family Spin additional €5 per family ie €10 per family
Lough Gill Circuit additional €10 per person ie €30 per person
Ox Mountain Challenge additional €10 per person ie €40 per person

- The entry fee includes your T-Shirt, certificate, refreshments during and after the event, use of changing and shower facilities at the start/finish, and use of various support services during the event
- The entry fee is non-refundable
- Cheques should be crossed and made payable to ‘Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership’
- Euro cheques/ postal orders/bank drafts will be accepted
- Under no circumstances should cash be sent in the post
- On line payments through our online application process will be by Credit Card by arrangement with our payment partner Active Europe. All major credit cards are accepted. Payment uses SSL Encryption by Paypal, and your credit card details will never be visible to the organisers of the An Post Tour of Sligo
